Project Plan Project plan folder with narrative
1. Pre-Contract Communication
2. Site Surveys

The execution of the Site Survey provides a vital starting point for the implementation of Points Condition Monitoring at a particular location.

The survey will define the scope of the system and site specific attributes on a contractual basis including cable lengths, routes, availability of power supplies and communications links and positioning of monitoring equipment.  (Click for more...)

3. Functional Design Specification

A Functional Design Specification (FDS) defines the functional design of the system. It shows how the site sub systems are connected and integrated with the AssetWatch Database Server. (Click for more...)

4. Project Management

A Project Management team will be appointed to deliver the SET PCM contract.

The client will have a single point of contact for all updates on project progress/delivery/completion.    (Click for more...)

5. Pre-Installation Meetings / Training

Pre-installation meetings / Training are provided to ensure the staff installing CDSRail systems are familiar with the components of a PCM system and are trained for correct installation.   (Click for more...)

6. Quality Assurance / Health and Safety

CDSRail operates a robust Quality Management System, which ensures that the company can consistently supply products and services that meet all of the customer’s requirements. The company is ISO9001:2000 certified and also compliant with the Network Rail Link-Up proof audit protocol.

For large-scale undertakings the Quality Management System can be applied on a project basis to ensure that an appropriate level of QA is exercised at each stage of execution and that the client has full visibility of the standards and procedures to which the project is planned and implemented.    (Click for more...)

7. Factory / Site Acceptance Testing

All CDSRail equipment is comprehensively tested immediately prior to despatch to ensure that all systems reach the client in good working order. In addition to the Factory test, the CDSRail commissioning engineer will give the system a full ‘real world’ test following successful installation to make sure any outstanding issues are resolved before handover of the project.    (Click for more...)

8. Drawings and Documentation

Each PCM System is supplied with a comprehensive documentation pack including installation guide & maintenance manual and site specific drawings.

These provide all the information required for the installation and wiring of the PCM system and associated transducers at the designated site.   (Click for more...)

9. Commissioning and Mimics

All CDSRail equipment is supplied with comprehensive documentation to support the installation process. In addition to this each site is assigned a designated commissioning engineer to supervise installation and ensure a smooth transition to a fully operational system.

CDSRail’s Link-Up status means that all commissioning staff are PTS certified and competent in the safe systems of working that apply to the Network Rail Controlled Infrastructure.   (Click for more...)

10. Risk Register

The Risk Register is used to record elements of the project which could be considered as being additional to the original scope.

The requirement for this is as a result of CDSRail putting forward a no variation based bid for SET. A 5% risk value has been incorporated to cover unqualified costs such as additional locations due to less than 5 end distribution plus cabling (to give just two examples).   (Click for more...)
